Amfetamina (przynajmniej ta uliczna) jest raczej kiepskim pomysłem, bo ma działanie tymczasowe. Zejdzie haj, to fobia i deprecha wróci. Lista środków o działaniu długotrwałym lub nawet stałym jest długa, od względnie bezpiecznych zaczynając, po niebezpiecznych kończąc. Niebezpieczne (choć o niekiedy dużej skuteczności) są psychodeliki. Jednemu pomogą, drugiemu zaszkodzą. Względnie bezpieczne jest, np. MDMA, choć też cudów bym się po tym nie spodziewał. Eksperymentowanie z narkotykami jest ryzykowne, tak samo jak wcinanie benzo (które też zresztą jest narkotykiem, w dodatku uzależniającym fizycznie). Jedyna różnica jest taka, że benzo bierze się pod kontrolą lekarza, co zmniejsza ryzyko uzależnienia. Gdyby aktualnie nielegalne środki były stosowane przez lekarzy, to skuteczność terapii byłaby większa.

Clearly, this is just one patient's experience: many more, larger studies would be needed before MDMA is adopted as a treatment.
